Prisma city use to be a colorful, vibrant city. Filled with life and freedom, until Comrade Black and his army of inkies come along a decide to rid the world of colour. Along with Papa Blanc and his followers called blancs, they are brain washing the citizens to help their cause. Turning all Prisma city into a gloomy darkness of black white and grey. As Blob it’s up to you to restore color back to Prisma City. Along with some other characters you find along the way that will help you take him them down.

This is a very straight forward game that anyone at any age can play. This game has 12 levels that you have to color. each can be pretty long depending if you are a completionist or not. There are a lot of collectibles to get, along with bonus objectives to complete on top of the main story. You can focus on the main story if you wish or for the OCD you can color every tree, car, building, billboards, boats and literally everything. A nice touch of changing from 3D exploration of cities, ports, and towns to 2D side scrolling in underground sewers to look for switches that will turn color pumps back on for a specific area. Or releasing color bots that roam around stealing color and hold it in a reservoir for you to smash and steal back. Each level offers different enemies and puzzles, with each getting more and more complicated as you progress. you will unlock abilities and power ups along the way. Ram through walls and enemies, jump jet across the map, slam on top of enemy boxes and switches.  Each objective, bonus or story related will grant you inspiration. Inspiration is what you use to upgrade Blob. Give him more health, armour, and reduce the paint cost of your ram ability. Even add ammo capacity for player 2’s character Pinky. Yes there is 2 player  but couch coop only. A 2nd player helps out a lot. As you start each level, its of course dark and gloomy. You have to unlock color sources to start coloring the city. No game music at all when you start a level. Whats unique with the game mechanics that each color of paint you use or change into makes blob sound like a different musical instrument. Bass, trumpets, guitars, even a dj scratching records. As you color more and more of the level the music scales up and becomes more upbeat. These subtle changes are addicting and keep the player coming back.

Considering this game was originally a PS3/Xbox 360 port, this game looks great. Everything runs smooth single player and Coop. Choosing colors and listening to the music as you play is the main experience of this game and is so much fun. Even the cinematic scenes are great in between each level even with no dialog. The comedy reminds me of minions and this game is put together quite well.

De blob 2 is a great game even with the next-gen upgrade. A full story to play through and tons of sides missions this game can keep a player coming back, especially a completionist. De Blob 2 is available across all platforms. PS4 ,PS3, PC, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Prices may vary but this game plays amazing across all platforms.
