Evil Genome Review

Evil Genome Review

Recently I’ve been given the chance to review a game that has been out for a few months that really caught my attention. As a fan of side scrolling  games, multiple options for the characters, and lots of attack combos, I was introduced to a game called “Evil Genome”.   Created by Crystal Depths, this game takes side scrolling to a new level. After having your ship attacked and landing on a unknown planet, you set out to find parts to repair your ship and discover the areas that are ahead of you. The 3D side scrolling game has amazing details that anyone will take notice, making the player more immersed into the playing experience. After starting up the game, the visual effects are spectacular. Once the game starts where you pick yourself up and start a basic tutorial of the controls so that you get an idea as to what you need to do. Your characters name is Lachesis and you are followed by a companion that is a little floating robot named Alfa. Collecting items as you go they contribute to the games over all effect and help to forward the game. If it’s the first time picking up a new item your good old buddy Alfa, chimes in and mentions what it is used for. In the options screen you see that there are more skills to learn and choosing which direction you want to take your character in. New looking weapons and clothes are a great addition to the game. Nothing is better then customization, and choosing what moves/ skills your character can have. As you progress the levels provide different enemies, and level obstacles appear. From slicing with your sword to shooting enemies at a distance there is a wide variety to kill them. For jumping platforms you have to be quick on the fingers and able to jump as soon as it’s needed. Boss battles are intense and action packed. Every boss varies in size and skill so be prepared with dealing lots of damage while dodging them at the same time. With only playing the first few levels so far, I am really looking forward to finishing this game, and getting every single collectible that I can get. Evil Genome would be a great addition to any one who enjoys a full customization character and side scrolling action. Available on steam now I recommend getting it ASAP.
