A Challenging Trigger-Happy FPS With No Shortage of Firepower

Mothergunship is the latest release from game developers Grip Digital and Terrible Posture Games. Mothergunship takes you through the depths of space where you enter a world of non-stop action to take on this robot-alien race and ultimately destroy their biggest ship known as the Mothergunship.   [embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gz7v0ujtxMM[/embedyt]   At first-glance, Mothergunship closely resembles its predecessor Tower of Guns. It features big guns and even bigger enemies. The graphics are polished, and the gameplay and controls are very easy to get the hang of. The game starts you off in a tutorial where you are shown weapon crafting and what different guns are capable of. Throughout the game you can collect and purchase connectors, guns and mods. Connectors allows you to attach multiple guns and mods to your loadout. With most levels you start off with one gun, but it’s very easy to acquire coins to get more parts throughout your progress of that level through the shops inside the enemy ships. The game lets you come up with some ridiculous and powerful guns. From lasers and grenade launches to rail guns and rapid shotguns, combined they unleash a deadly force. Just be wary of your energy levels. The stronger the gun, the more energy it relies on. Waiting for your energy to refill might mean life of death, so balance is key.     The levels have a similar look and feel but you never seem to see the same layout twice. Each mission takes you through the alien ships as you aim to reach the Mothergunship and take it out. The ships feature rooms that act as stages that get progressively harder. At the end you may even be surprised by a boss that will take some skill and serious firepower to defeat. Try your hardest to survive because there are no checkpoints. If you die, not only do you have to restart the level from the beginning, you also lose your loadout parts or any parts/guns that you collected during the mission. The game is very challenging and will frustrate even seasoned gamers.   Upon completing missions you will be awarded coins and orbs that you can use to purchase guns or upgrade your mech suit attributes back at the home base. The storyline can be a little dry and unoriginal, but this game’s selling feature is being a bullet mayhem FPS that throws everything at its will. There is no multiplayer currently, but the developers have mentioned that in August there will be co-op gameplay. Taking on hordes of fighting robots sounds much better with a teammate.   Even with it’s simplistic storyline, Mothergunship introduces some unique elements sure to keep you entertained. Its gun customization and variety of difficult enemies will challenge you as you strive to reach and defeat the Mothergunship.
