NHL 19 Beta Impressions

NHL 19 has an open beta currently running which started on July 26th and is running until August 2nd. In this beta fans will experience The World of CHEL. The World of CHEL is pretty much a boost to the EA Sports Hockey League Mode. The beta lets you play your standard online vs but where most players are taking deeper dives would have to be the new “Ones” mode where it is 1v1v1 free for all.  NHL Threes is available along with EASHL Drop-in/club games.   [embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hb75FiOeYRQ[/embedyt]   I have mostly been playing the new game mode NHL Ones and I must say this mode is a lot of fun and with the player ranking system it keeps you wanting to play more and more. Win games, progress through the different outdoor venues and be crowned king of the rink pretty much. What I enjoy most about this new mode from EA Sports is the availability of how deep you can customize your character. The more you play the more you unlock in terms of hockey bags full of jerseys, hats and so on. It’s a great feature to be added as you are able to dress your character your way.  Sky is the limit with over 900 custom gears pieces available Also added is the different player classes, sniper, power forward and two-way are all back in this years game and you can add extra perks in terms of 3 tiers for your player. Can’t hit well? boost your players hitting perk to increase your chances of laying out your opponent. The boosts range from heavy hitter perks, to having those dirty mitts to dangle someone out of their jock strap. It is a beta after all but I am looking forward to playing this mode and battling friends over and over again.   [embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJS4uqcUhoc[/embedyt]   Skating feels a lot better in this years installment which is a great relief, in previous games it felt a little clunky and overall it has improved. With RPM Tech, Explosive-edge skating enables more control over how you generate speed using edge-work and crossovers. With all new animations, you’ll experience more responsiveness in acceleration, high-speed skating, and pin-point turns.   [embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3X5y3E4CN8[/embedyt]   DID THEY FINALLY FIX THE HITTING MECHANICS!!! sorry I got a little excited because I am loving the new mechanics for player detection when being crushed by a nice open ice hit. FINALLY!! Overall I am enjoying the beta for NHL 19 and looking forward to the full release. Stay tuned for gameplay and a review for NHL 19 once released. Cheers folks!
