Sony Should Not Bank On Kojima and Death Stranding

0
Another year has passed at E3 and we see a little more Death Stranding and despite the game graphically looking great I don’t think Death Stranding will be the game everyone thinks it will be.   [embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rP3UngLFou4[/embedyt]   Yes, it has a fantastic lineup of voice actors in Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, and Lindsay Wagner with an appearance from Guillermo del Toro but is that really going to save this game? Looks like we are in store for 100 hours of cut scenes and 3.5 hours of gameplay. Now let’s face it, this game will come out probably 5-7 years from now half done and all you will see is people bashing Sony about how they rushed the “great” Kojima and how they should have tossed more cash his way. Hmmmmm pretty sure Konami fired his ass because he was spending too much money trying to create this perfect game! Ok yes, Metal Gear is one of the greatest franchises in the gaming but he didn’t do this all on his own. Look at the team he had behind him working with Konami. Do I think Kojima sucks NO I don’t, but what I really think is that he very overrated and people need to stop praising him like he is some good to the gaming world? I fell off the Metal Gear train a long time ago dating back to Snake Eater and although MG5 was a pretty decent game it still didn’t wow me! Kojima will spend and spend all of Sony’s money and you know what Sony will be OK with it and hype the hell out of the game to probably push its new console the PS5. Seems like that is the way Death Stranding will be released as a PS5 launch title. Well, we don’t know when PS5 is coming out and who knows maybe Sony will fire Kojima too and just leave Death Stranding lurking in the back round wondering what this game could have become. There is a lot of hype surrounding Death Stranding after E3  and with the recent trailer we saw. That’s all it is at this point all one big hype! Fanboys holding hands and bowing to Kojima for a game that is probably only 10% complete. Since 2016 we have only heard or seen any details at the previous E3 events. So E3 2019 will maybe see a 12-minute cut scene this time?     I hope Sony smartens up and realizes that the Kojima hype train will be derailed soon enough and that they need to start tossing money into some other studios. Yes, Sony has some great and I mean great upcoming exclusives like The Last of Us 2 and Spider-man so maybe its time for Sony to move on past Kojima and let him flop on his own. Rant over! Cheers!
