Internet leaks happen all the time and this time it is about not one but two new PlayStation 4 systems. We already know that on September 7th, Sony is having a keynote to discuss and reveal the more powerful PlayStation 4, code named NEO but it seems like they will also be talking about a slimmer version of PlayStation 4. The controller is pretty similar to the DualShock 4 controller you might have around the house right now. One difference that’s immediately obvious is the light bar on the top of the controller that’s also visible on the front face. Chief competitor Microsoft pulled a similar trick at E3 by announcing the Xbox One S alongside the Scorpio, and the PS4 slim would become Sony’s direct competition for the Xbox One S, which has reportedly been selling quite well. We know the thing will be smaller, but the real question will be whether or not we’ll be seeing other changes to the machine: a price drop, in particular, could give Sony a huge burst of momentum heading into the holiday season. A 1TB option would also be nice. The PS4 has been a massive success so far, and there’s no reason to think it’s going to slow down now. My take on it?  This is good news, but it is something we kinda knew will happen. PSOne had a slimmer model, PlayStation 2 had a slimmer model, PlayStation 3 had 2 slimmer models so this was kind of a given thing. I am not excited for PS NEO but I know I will be getting it. This slimmer model looks good but I am more interested in its price. Sept 7th cannot come soon enough.
