Nothing Compares to Gaming Evolution

Nothing Compares to Gaming Evolution

Over the years there have been many game changing genres, and there is always a specific kind that suits every gamer.

The classic games that showed everyone that they had specific skills and could show them off against their friends, such games started off like “pong” which then lead onto other systems such as ColecoVision and Nintendo Entertainment System, which created a huge wide-spread option for people to immerse themselves into something new and get the best out of what they wanted for a certain amount of time.

From the impossible to possible

Games that were released back in the late 80’s to early 90’s had at least the minimum option to to save the game. Using pre-programmed passwords, or just leaving the system on so that you can come back to it later were the only real options for retro gaming systems. Donkey Kong is one of the classics that will never go out of style. Playing level after level, collecting as many points as you can just to have the right to brag about it to your friends and show them how skillful you are. Many other games were to follow, such as Pac-Man, Galaga, and Centipede are games that can be based on patterns and pure dedication to collecting what is needed to get the maximum amount of points before moving onto the next level.

Moving into the next phase

Advancements are always being made towards video games. Starting from one simple screen where all you do is move a character, no real moving background components and collect the points. As time went on, the side scrolling game came into play, and gave people a different kind of game to enjoy. Where you made your way through a world map instead of being stuck on the same screen and just moving around. Classic games such as Mario Bros, Battle Toads, and Ghost N’ Goblins showed you the direction to go, and collect as many items as you can along the way to help make the level, and enemies go a little smoother. This kind of game play was revolutionary due to the fact that there are still games that are released today and still provide hours of gameplay.

3D World Exploration

Finally stepping into the world of 3D and making endless styles and genres of games it creates open worlds and endless imagination. Everything changed and old games could be released in the modern age with updated graphics and sounds. There are also the old games being re-released for younger generations to enjoy and complete.

Endless Possibilities

With all the ideas that make games great, there is no limit as to what can be done. From the re-release of classic games, to the creation of new open world games, to virtual reality, there is always a way for creative minds to come up with new great games. Even if one game doesn’t do well at all they just focus on the next project and make things better for the gamer to enjoy.

Games are one of the things that can bring people all around the world together, grow friendships and have a way to escape reality, which isn’t always a bad thing. Great ideas are what make amazing things happen, and with how videogames are progressing, I look forward to what will come and what adventures we will all be taken on.
