Gran Turismo Sport Review

Gran Turismo Sport….What can be said about this franchise. From the start it has always been a leader when it comes to pushing the limits of Sonys hardware. Beautiful car models, the environment, and the game as a whole. It was/is one of my first loves when it came to driving games. A mixture of polish and functionality. “The Real Driving Simulator” and it IS just that! from the original till now. It hosts many cars (not as many as GT6), and tracks to choose from along with online play for those competitive players looking to showcase their driving skills. GT Sport is truly in a league of its own, however I feel like GT 6 had a bit more to offer as far as content goes.  Now the truth is, this game isn’t for everyone! But for enthusiasts that like the transition from real to game, this is for you. It’s won’t give you that adrenaline dump you get playing some more arcade style racing games. But what it lacks in arcade excitement, it makes up for in amount of cars to choose from, track variations, and customization of vehicle specs. The AI has improved significantly over the last few installations, they actually want to win, and don’t seem like they are out for a Sunday drive. The AI knows when you be aggressive and when not to be providing a more robust experience when playing single player.   Each car resembles the handling of their real life counter parts, with no two cars feeling the same on the track. This is where GT Sport shines! Which is why fans of this series buy it, the cars models and lighting are stunning, but the overall look isn’t AMAZING. So that being said, Although it is still in my opinion the best racing simulator out there. They could have added more bells and whistles to cater to the not so hardcore crowd, which my be looking into Forza 7 or Project Cars2 as an alternative.  All in all GT Sport still holds up to it’s namesake, and still holds it’s own as a fantastic Racing Sim, however with the pullback on content we are hoping for a better showing next time around. But of course if you LOVE cars and Polyphonys past instalments, no doubt you will love this one as well!

Ridiculous. Easily the best racing game since decades.

Love the new game, only thing that really hurt me is that most of the game play is through online only and that all previous generations of steering wheel controllers that worked with ps2 and ps3 don’t work with the ps4. Whats awesome though is the updates always come with an list of dope cars.
