Super Mario Run Review

Mario is back but for your iOS this time around and Super Mario Run is a fantastic little hand-held game that keeps you coming back for more. Super Mario Run is a wonderful platformer that will have you hooked the second you start playing. Now you don’t have full control over Mario has he will automatically run on his own but you do control his jumping abilities and his newly acquired parkour skills to help you beat this 24 stage game. Like always you are tasked with chasing after Bowser and trying to save the Princess. The game allows you to pull of some great parkour moves when coming up against some enemies which makes this game even more addictive as you try to master Mario’s new skills. Practice makes perfect in this game as you get deeper into the game your new skills and masterful one touch gaming will need to be on point as the levels to get very challenging so stay sharp! The game actually looks really great with level designs and smooth gameplay considering this is on your handheld device. Seeing that this game only requires one hand to play I was impressed by the response on-screen when tapping or holding to jump. I never once had issues with my fingers being in the way of the screen which made the game a lot easier to play as well. The most addictive part about this game was my desire to hunt down all the special coins and quite frankly it turned into an obsession. Each level will start with 5 pink coins strategically placed on each map that to some seem out of reach but trust me you can get them. Collect all 5 in one run you will see a purple set of 5 appear and after that if your skills are that good another set of 5 black coins will appear. The madness never stops! this is the great replay value of Super Mario Run which kept me wanting more. This is mainly a skill based game mode to see how many quick moves you can pull off and gain the best score. Not as good as the campaign of course but still fun to play and see if you can crush your friends. Kingdom builder is a cool and calm mode where you basically spend some coins and build up your kingdom. Nothing to fantastic about this mode but will give you fingers a break from time to time. All in all this is a fantastic Mario game considering it is on your hand-held device and its replay value is amazing and will keep you wanting more. Another home run here from Nintendo and I look forward to future Mario iOS titles down their road. Keep in mind the game is free to play but after a few levels you will need to purchase the rest of the game.   Cheers Folks!
