An Addicting Platformer That Will Keep You Hooked for Hours: N++ Review (Xbox One)

The popular indie plat-former title, N++, has made its way into the hands of Xbox gamers. The game combines real world physics in a fast-paced, challenging environment that is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. In N++ there’s no real storyline, but you play the role of a ninja who has to clear levels against a barrage of objects that are trying to kill you. You can collect pieces of gold to extend your play time in that frame. Each level acts as a puzzle where you are put up against the clock, and various enemies, to make the right moves to unlock the exit. As expected, as you progress, levels get more difficult. I found myself having to retry levels countless times, but thankfully I had the perseverance to progress. If you somehow aren’t satisfied with the available levels you can even create your own for you and the world to challenge.   [embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxc-lFeUtu4[/embedyt]   The game features a minimalist design that has allowed the designers to use an accurate physics engine combined with simple core mechanics that you will enjoy whether you are jumping from wall to wall or are watching yourself get sliced in half by an electric beam. Stick-figure animations have been around for quite some time, but N++ has polished the gameplay to feel beyond its era. Users can also get creative with trippy colour schemes and mesmerizing background music. Some themes feel like an acid trip so I stuck to playing with ones a little bit friendlier on the eyes. One of the best features I discovered was actually playing this game with friends! N++ offers local multiplayer with up to 4 players. There is a Co-op mode where you have to work together to reach the exit. Co-op multiplayer levels were the most challenging, where in many situations, a few player sacrifices will have to be made in order for the team to advance. If you are more competitive with your friends, you can try the Race mode where it’s a free-for-all to the finish. Even with simple graphics, this challenging game will lure you in like a flagship title. I found myself stuck on the couch for hours entering this stick-figure Matrix world with no reason to unplug and resurface to reality. N++ provides outstanding value and is an excellent replay title that is fun solo and even better when multiple players are present.
