Capcom Reveals Release Date and More For Resident Evil: Village

1

During the Resident Evil Showcase on January 21, Capcom revealed more details on the upcoming Resident Evil: Village, as well as a few other announcements that are sure to get fans of the franchise excited.

A new trailer for Village was shown, showcasing more of the mysterious tall woman, along with the horrifying castle which serves as the main setting for the game. Players will once again see through the eyes of Ethan Winters, as he travels to said castle in search of his kidnapped daughter. In typical Resident Evil fashion, however, what starts as a rescue will surely turn into a daring escaped.

To many fans surprise, Capcom announced that Resident Evil: Village will be coming to all platforms at launch, not just the next generation which was rumoured months ago. Those interested in playing this title will have a slew of versions to select from, as each platform will receive a Standard Edition, a Deluxe Edition, and a physical Collectors Edition, which comes with a statue of Chris Redfield, a steel book, art book and map of the village. Both the Deluxe version and the Collectors Edition will receive digital deluxe content to be utilized within the game.

In anticipation for the main game, Resident Evil: Village has received a PlayStation Exclusive demo called “Maiden” and can be downloaded right now. Although short, Maiden gives fans a glimpse into how Village will handle its atmospheric horror and setting.

Thankfully fans won’t have to wait long, as Resident Evil: Village launches on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on May 7, 2021.

From a young age I've loved video games and the power they possess in bringing different kinds of people together. I have forged many good friendships through this medium that would not exist without it. I love experiencing a new genre for the first time and finding out it resonates with me. Also, Conker's Bad Fur Day is one of the greatest games of all time. Fight me.
