On June 22, Activision Blizzard announced
Crash Bandicoot 4: I’ts About Time with a stylish trailer, showing off a newly inspired art-style that pays tribute to the original trilogy.
Marketed as a direct sequel to
Crash Bandicoot: Warped, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time marks the first original Crash game in over 10 years. Developed by Toys for Bob (
Spyro Reignited Trilogy),
Crash Bandicoot 4 is a full game built from the ground up with a new engine, larger-than-life boss fights and expansive new worlds. Despite the new developer,
Crash Bandicoot 4 will feature original levels that challenge the payer with the platform-centric gameplay that is iconic with the previous titles. Toys for Bob spent a great detail on the visuals for the game, with the intention of crafting an art style that is both inspired by the original trilogy and unique on its own.
The story of
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will feature the return of Neo Cortex, Dr. N. Tropy, and Uka Uka, and illustrates the trio’s eventual escape after decades of being stranded on a distant planet. Their escape however, causes a devastating whole in the fabric of space-time, allowing them to become one step closer to total domination over the multiverse. Throughout the story, players will uncover the four Quantum Masks, allowing Crash to manipulate and control the rules of reality. Each Mask will introduce a new ability, allowing Crash to tackle new obstacles in his path. The Time Mask can slow down time, while the Gravity Mask enables the bandicoots to platform upside down.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time bursts onto PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 2, 2020 and will be available for the PS5 and Xbox Series X. To stay up-to-date with all of the latest information surrounding the new
