Fans of
Demon’s Souls were given a special treat today as
Sony advertised some new additions coming to the much anticipated remake of FromSoftware’s classic.
In keeping with their tradition of enhancing original features of the original title, developer BluePoint Games has vastly improved the character creation element of
Demon’s Souls. The developers expressed how they wanted players to truly feel the personal connection with their created characters as they challenge every encounter. To accomplish this, BluePoint Games has added 16 million permutations to the character creation menu, reinforcing how dedicated they are to rebuilding this PlayStation classic from the ground up as a genuine RPG.
Character Creation
BluePoint Games hopes that by spending the time to fully personalize one’s character, players will feel an extra sense of pride and investment when playing through the game solo or sharing the experience with others in co-op/PvP. Speaking of sharing the experience, another BluePoint staple that has found its way into the
Demon’s Souls remake is Photo Mode.
The Photo Mode that will be present in
Demon’s Souls is extremely robust and beautiful. Like the
Shadow of the Colossus remake, BluePoint Games feels that video game art should be preserved and appreciated by every player. By implementing a dedicated photo mode within the game, players are able to capture the greatest moments in their adventure and share it with others.
Photo Mode
The options present in
Demon’s Souls‘ Photo Mode serve only to enhance the player experience and capture the magic on screen. Players can toggle on/off equipment or characters entirely if they wish to solely capture the beauty of the surrounding scenery. Adding filters is another way of appreciating what is on display and preserving each thrilling or mesmerizing moment. BluePoint promises that these filters are not exclusive to Photo Mode, and can be toggled on/off while playing the game.
