Injustice: Gods Among Us came into our lives back in April of 2013. The game was very well received by the critics and the fans, becoming one of the best selling games of 2013. Now 3 years later, fans knew something was cooking at Netherrealm Studios but Creative Director Ed Boon was keeping it a secret. Ed Boon is known to drop hints through the cycle of the game and news and this didn’t change, he changed his Twitter Avatar to roman numeral II but wasn’t ready to drop bombs yet.
But that all changed earlier today when a GameStop employee emailed Polygon this picture of a poster from the game, which makes it kinda official that Injustice 2 is happening.
If you looked closely, it doesn’t have a definitive tagline like the previous entry but does say “Every Battle Defines You”. Showing Batman fighting Flash. Batman looks like fashioning a Kryptonite Suit which makes sense as Superman is the enemy in Injustice series and we have Flash in neon red costume with shoulder pads. I can go on and on dissecting this image but we should wait for the full reveal from Ed Boon himself.
I also think that Batman suit is inspired by Alex Ross’s version of Batman from Kingdom Come series, in which Batman carries very much like Iron Man type suits and have many automated Batmans flying around. Once again, I need to stop dissecting this one image and just wait for the full reveal.
Ed Boon didn’t comment on the leak image but posted this image on his Twitter account, making a joke that a party is about to take place and GameStop isn’t invited cause they leaked the poster image.
This poster is supposedly a Pre-Order bonus for all the fans who are going to pre-order the game at GameSpot. Count me in, as I will be the first in line to pre-order the Special Edition or Collector’s Edition or even the MEGA Edition (If it exists). Neatherrealm can take all my money and just give me this goodness.
