Is SEGA Genesis Classics really a “New” Game?

The time for old school gamers is now! The SEGA Genesis Classics game is out tomorrow! Gamers rejoice for going back to the good old days of controllers only having three buttons. Like when you play Sonic the Hedgehog… A button is jump, B button is jump, and C button is…. Jump. No need to press up, X, and LB all at the same time just to do one simple action. Running through levels, getting rings, weapons, or even health items. All the SEGA games bring back the feelings about what is was like to have a game that you couldn’t save, and had to make it all the way to the end in one sitting, or pause the game for hours to do other things and come back to the game. But the real question is… is this really a “new” game. My personal answer would be no. Back on February 10, 2009 there was a game released for PS3, and Xbox 360 called “Mega Drive: Ultimate collection”. This was a collection of 40 of the great SEGA games that people wanted to play. The list below are the games that come on both versions.   SEGA Ultimate Collection

I’ve highlighted the games that are on both versions. 35 games overlap. Now why would SEGA just do a rerelease of the games that they have already done? There are many other games that came out on the system that people want but have not been released. Just like any of the X-Men titles! Let me know what you think, or what games you would want to see released. Also, is this game release even worth it since it came out 9 years ago and people got the chance to play then?   Cheers everyone!
