LootCrate Going Under

The announcement came overnight at a press release just days after the company reportedly laid off dozens of employees, according to a report from the LA Times, no one received a severance of any kind. This comes after the company had already laid off almost 150 workers this past May from their warehouse, but that didn’t stop LootCrate’s CEO Chris Davies from saying “We are very pleased with our progress from an operational efficiency standpoint,” continuing that “The company still faces liquidity issues.” Well it seems like he was just feeding the public something that wasn’t true, and he should have just came forward and say what was really happening. LootCrate is one of many subscription box services that have gained popularity over the years, and I myself have purchased some in the past and did video reviews on the materials. According to the bankruptcy filing (as reported by the L.A. Times), the company has been withholding customer billing and still owes at least $20 million worth of shipments to customers. Some subscribers say they have not received subscription boxes for the past three months. I was one of those subscribers and they said they would send me a new box that I had not received before. All I received after 2 months of waiting was the exact same crate that I had last received. As original as the items were, they didn’t seem to be worth the amount that you pay. You get one of a kind pieces that are nice for display purposes, but can’t really play with them if you choose to. Some subscribers who chose the Fallout 4 series 2 set might be disappointed in the fact that they may not get all 6 parts of the package to complete the set, but lets keep our fingers crossed that LootCrate comes through for their customers one last time. Cheers everyone,
