Hello again Gamers!
Monday, and we are all back to the grind; perfect time to take a break and catch up on the gaming world gone by over the weekend.
With that being said, Call of Duty Black Ops 4 was released on beta and I had a chance to play it this weekend (early beta on Friday). So some back story on me, and as I was explaining to some friends; I have not enjoyed a call of duty franchise since modern warfare 2/black ops. Suffice to say, I went into this game blind with low expectations (I expected a standard cod replica)
That being said, I was surprised on a few levels, let’s dive into what those levels are:
Gameplay:
The game play being one of the biggest talking points as a new game mode has been introduced to the cod world, battle royal. I honestly expected this portion to fall flat as the industry over-saturated with this game mode. Surprisingly though, it does not; first thing I noticed was that this game is so comparable to PUBG dare I even say replicated from it. That being said, if you liked PUBG then there is no reason you won’t enjoy this.
Features:
I know, how many features can a battle royal really have ? Well zombies are a threat in this and I found that to be a really interesting and welcomed feature. I was playing and all of a sudden I hear the zombie chime music followed by the groans of the damned.
Another feature I was fond of was the helicopters! Not much more to say about that. Flight is a thing now; that being said, how you enter the battlefield is pleasant via carrier helicopter and the the wing suit for player flight is enjoyable.
Perks and accessories have a call of duty spin as expect; from grappling hooks to mobility packs.
Other than that, black ops 4 battle royal plays almost identical to the other great battle royal available.
What are my thoughts ? Call of duty needed an infusion of new blood, that being said, I’ll play it simply because they dared to go out of the typical call of duty lane by adjusting to the temperature of the gaming world. However, they didn’t reinvent to wheel, they fine tuned what was already successful and catered it towards call of duty.
