Pokémon Company Announces New Pokémon Titles Coming to Nintendo’s Ecosystem

On June 17, audiences were treated to the first bit of general Pokémon news for 2020, featuring titles to be released on both mobile devices and Nintendo Switch. First up was the reveal of a new mobile application, Pokémon Smile! Developed as a way to turn teeth brushing from a frustrating chore into a fun activity, Pokémon Smile has children work together with Pokémon to battle cavity-causing bacteria as they brush their teeth in order to free their trapped brethren. Doing an adequate job will even allow children to capture the now freed Pokémon. Pokémon Smile is a completely free application that is available now for download on Apple and Android devices. Next was the reveal of Pokémon Café Mix, a puzzle game set in a café that serves Pokémon! Working together with your Pokémon staff, you’ll swirl Pokémon icons around in a coffee mixer to create delicious treats for your customers. The Pokémon that stop by your café can be befriended and join your team as an employee, lending their unique skills to the café you build and expand. Speaking of those unique skills, staff Pokémon can use said skills to make the puzzles a little easier such as Charmander’s ember skill. Pokémon Café Mix will be available on Nintendo Switch and Mobile devices at an unspecified date. Last but not least is the confirmation of New Pokémon Snap, a sequel to the twenty-year-old Nintendo 64 classic. In this on-rail-shooter of sorts, players take on the role of a photographer capturing photos of Pokémon in their natural habitats. From large open fields filled with Tauros and sparkling oceans where Lapras and Squirtles can be seen sailing by, to the skies above filled with Pidgeot and Swanna, New Pokémon Snap will feature Pokémon from all eight generations. Unfortunately, audiences will have to wait a little longer for more information on this much-anticipated title coming to Nintendo Switch at an unspecified date At the end of the presentation, Nintendo teased that a big Pokémon Project will be revealed on June 24—so look forward to that. What are your thoughts on all these announcements? Voice your thoughts in the meantime and we will see you next week for the big news.
