ICYMI, Sony debuted new Ratchet & Clank: Rife Apart footage in their recent State of Play on 4/29.

With a primary focus on how the PlayStation 5’s high-powered internals will enhance the title for players, this 15 minute footage puts it’s money where it’s mouth is. From new abilities that both Ratchet and Rivet will utilize, to the variety of weaponry the franchise is known for, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is sure to squeeze every ounce of PS5 tech into the player’s fingertips. One way Insomniac hopes the title will feel next-gen is in the DualSense controller’s Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Triggers. With gunplay and weaponry being at the heart of every Ratchet & Clank experience, the DualSense controller will certainly elevate the uniqueness found in each firearm.

Insomniac also proudly boasts the accessibility options that have been added to the title, such as the ability to toggle the game’s speed. The developer promises this is just the first of many accessibility options to come, and will discuss additional ones closer to release.

If all this wasn’t enough, the 15 minute footage also showcased new environments players will be exploring as both Ratchet and Rivet, with near-instant loading and high-octane action. Along with the gameplay shown during the State of Play, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will also feature alternative gameplay and combat modes, where players can pilot Clank through unique and engaging puzzles. To top it all off, a highly requested photo mode will finally be making its debut into the Ratchet & Clank franchise with Rift Apart.
