Sea Of Thieves Closed Beta Impressions

Sea Of Thieves Closed Beta Impressions

We didn’t know what to expect from the Sea of Thieves closed beta when we first set sail but we are glad we had a chance to try it out!. Sea of Thieves is a blast especially when you set sail with a crew of one-eyed Willy’s.   Sea of Thieves is a great coop based game but also a lot of fun playing solo as well. The closed beta gave us three choices to play from the start. You can play solo, in a small crew or with a full crew. Each ship varies in size based on your choice of course. I mostly played this closed beta in a duo scenario but it was nothing short of exciting and a blast to play. I am pretty sure we sunk the ship a handful of times before we were able to get the swing of things. Always remember to use your buckets to dump water before you sink. Sea of Thieves shines when playing in multiplayer and we often found ourselves talking like we were a bunch of pirates! yes I know childish but if you had the chance to play this game you would be acting like a pirate too. During the first few hours with Sea of Thieves we checked out a few outposts where you will obtain your quests. On the most part they are all the same, find a location or island and solve a puzzle and get your treasure. I am sure the full release will broaden the horizon on the quest and treasure search but for the most part it was still a fun task sailing the 7 seas!   [embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ebb7rp44kg0[/embedyt]   Sea of Thieves graphics are actually quite amazing. Your first look at the ocean blows you away. Some of the best environmental graphics you will ever see are a part of Sea of Thieves. I often found myself humming a pirate jig and just looking off the deck of the ship into the beautiful waves of the ocean. The combat mechanics in Sea of Thieves seem simple and we only battled a few skeleton’s and some hungry sharks at first so it wasn’t too bad getting used to it. It wasn’t until we ran into another Pirate crew who rammed us and jumped on board and sunk our ship is where we quickly realized we need to sharpen our combat skills. Practice makes perfect and I am glad we are able to get another ship. You start off with a sword, pistol and rifle. Also you can collect items like cannonballs, wood planks and bananas to help you survive. Keep a stock pile of wooden planks to repair your ship… trust me!
