Sony Dropped The Ball Before E3

Sony Dropped The Ball Before E3

With roughly less than a month away from the biggest event in the gaming industry Sony has decided to treat us all with its E3 conference line up which quite frankly isn’t much to talk about! Sony has decided to give away most of its hand at E3 and with these four games getting the main spotlight. To be honest  it’s not that impressive considering we have already seen these title in action already. The last of Us Part II, Spider-Man, Death Stranding and Ghost of Tsushima are all fantastic games don’t get me wrong but we have already seen them! Dropping a release date for The Last of Us II would be fantastic don’t get me wrong but if they are only deep diving into these 4 games and eating up their time slot this could be a big let down for fans going forward. Sony has also stated you will see big announcements from third-party publishing teams and other games from indie developers as well but does that even peak your interest in the slightest? Maybe Sony is playing us all and they have some bigger tricks up their sleeve and this was a test to see how fans would react.   No new hardware being confirmed out of Sony is a big let down as this would have been a fantastic time to counter punch against Microsoft’s Xbox One X. Yes I know the PS4 Pro is still around but does it really compare to the Xbox One X. Some say yes, some say no but that is another debate in itself. At least a glimpse of a potential new console would have been fantastic and a show stopper that would have Microsoft saying “oh no” but it seems like nothing is coming and that is a huge let down considering Sony is known for shocking us all at E3 conferences. Who knows though really until the show actually happens Sony could still shock us all and that would be a good thing for the ongoing console battle as it would push Microsoft as well and that is good for the industry. At the end of the day Sony is known for exclusives and that is what fans want to see. Frankly I don’t want to see these four games being the spot light of the show this year because its pretty much old news. Death Stranding won’t be coming out any time soon, Spider-Man is months away from release, Ghost of Tsushima might get a release date in 2019, and the only saving grace would be a huge announcement stating The Last of Us II releasing this fall.     As of right now Sony seems to have dropped the ball on E3 by giving away its plans and without some big news this could open the door for Microsoft or hell even Nintendo to possibly dominate with big news at E3 this year. Anyways drop a comment and let me know your thoughts on what you think Sony is hiding from us! because I don’t think this is all they will show us.   Cheers Folks!
