E3 is upon us! The annual event that gamers and techies salivate over. So far we’ve seen a bit from each studio. Why not keep the best for last, The PlayStation Showcase. The Showcase started with the audience gathered in a church tent. Yes, E3 put up a tent to set the tone for the first game. The Last Of Us 2. A fan favorite franchise and a personal favorite of mine as well. PlayStation put together a gorgeous cinematic sequence and added some game play as well. Watching Ellie Slaughter a group of hunters is amazing to watch and the internet was all a buzz as we are introduced to Ellie and how her character is openly gay. This is a huge step forward for the gaming industry and just a well done trailer all together.

Different enemies and obstacles and of course the zombie bear!!! In fact there’s a lot more zombies animals like wolves and cougars as well. Check out The E3 footage for more gameplay and cinematics

The next Game shown reminded me of the Onimusha Franchise on PS2. In 1274, the fearsome Mongol Empire invades the Japanese island of Tsushima and slaughters its legendary samurai defenders. Jin Sakai is one of the last survivors of a noble samurai clan. To combat his overwhelming foes, he must pioneer deadly new fighting techniques–the way of The Ghost–and wage an unconventional war for the people of Japan.

This trailer looked like something from the Infamous series with the way you can manipulate physics. Remedy Studios and 505 games announced a game called Control. You are Jesse Faden, a young woman with a troubled past. You become the new Director of the Bureau of Control – Our front line in researching and fighting against supernatural enemies like the Hiss threatening our very existence.

The Resident Evil franchise has been a PlayStation favorite of gamers since the 90’s. Sequel after sequel, movie after movie, you’d think this franchise has exhausted all branches of media. Well the first Resident Evil game was remastered. PlayStation announced the Remake of Resident Evil 2. All New mechanics, New Graphics and new game play. The Resident Evil 2 game you’ll recognize but a different feel as you play. The nightmares return re imagined for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro on January 25, 2019.

The above line up is a very strong list of games. Many BRAND new to the industry. Strong story telling with impacting cinematic sequences is the direction gaming has always steered towards. Sony has always done a fantastic job at provided its fan what they want and that is games and more games. Although know major announcements in the tune of a new console Sony managed to capture its fans with great titles releasing this year and ofcourse next. Well done Sony well done.
