PlayStation 5 owners will soon be able to relive the groundbreaking experience and uncover the truth of the Death Stranding in stunning 4K visuals at 60 fps.

During Thursday’s State of Play, Sony shed some more details as to the upgraded version of Death Stranding, and what PS5 owners can expect if they choose to purchase it once more.

For starters, the Death Stranding: Director’s Cut will feature new gameplay additions to the award winning title that will no doubt enhance the user’s experience. Highlighted in their pre-order trailer, Death Stranding: Director’s Cut will feature:

  • New enemies and encounters,
  • New weaponry and combat,
  • Additional cargo support functions, such as a robot companion to help carry packages,
  • New missions,
  • And more.

In addition to the new gameplay features, Death Stranding: Director’s Cut will also feature PS5 specific DualSense controller additions. As with most PS5 upgraded titles, the Director’s Cut will feature haptic feedback and adaptive triggers on the DualSense controller. The title will also take advantage of 3D audio, along with the PS5’s super fast SSD.

Perhaps the most interesting news, however, is that owners of the PS4 version of Death Stranding will only have to to pay $10 USD to upgrade to the PS5 Director’s Cut. Coming off the heels of the Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut price controversy, this news could not have been better for fans.

Thankfully, fans won’t have to wait too much longer, as Death Stranding: Director’s Cut releases exclusively on September 24, 2021 for PS5.
