Twitch can be a lot of work

On June 6th, 2011 a new form of entertainment was born. Twitch was launched into its beta form and opened up a whole new world for people. Giving everyone a chance to actually show what they can add to the world while discussing theoretically anything they want. Breaking barriers and being able to share great content with people worldwide and making new friends.

Even if someone joins Twitch who doesn’t play video games there are always other options to join. Making friends with people who have fun attitudes and like to include their viewers is always a positive thing.

From the Beginning

Finding a purpose to stream is actually fairly easy, as is needing to know which direction that you would like to take for your channel. If it’s just to talk, all you really need is a webcam and fast internet so that there aren’t any lag issues. There are multiple programs as well that can be used, such as Stream Labs, FRAPS, or Xsplit Gamecaster. All can be set to the streamer’s own personal settings and lots of compatible apps can be downloaded.

With the start of any streamer, there are certain criteria that need to be met for you to get into their affiliate program

With the proper channels to advertise your channel and support to help get started, these goals are easy to accomplish and once you hit affiliate, that is when the real fun begins—giving your viewers the ability to subscribe to your channel, setting up sounds so that your viewers can pay bits and have all sorts of fun.

When using OBS you are able to add animations and use different kinds of apps that give your viewers avatars, you’re able to change your voice depending on the microphone software you have, as well as changing the camera graphics.

Don’t worry about if you slow down on streaming after you hit affiliate either. It doesn’t revert to a basic membership.

After Affiliate

Once you hit this phase and start enjoying the options that you can always change back and forth, it’s best to just enjoy the followers and let your channel grow. Enjoy the games you share or the conversations that you have with your viewers. Watch videos with them, just be in the moment and enjoy what you do. Don’t go looking to hit the next phase right away. It’s something that needs to be taken in strides. Work with what you have and what you can do. Some people say to get all the main gear that you can, such as a good microphone, camera, etc. but in all honesty, you don’t need to. Use a gaming headset for your audio and mic. You don’t have to have a camera but sometimes it’s fun to see people’s reactions to certain games.

Hitting the “partner” phase is a great milestone to hit but does take time. It’s like I mentioned before, focus on just having fun and people will watch you on a regular basis. Being a partner with Twitch is a little more difficult to maintain as you can have it removed and reverted back to affiliate.

Focus on what you want and simply try to have fun. Join channels on discord that allow you to advertise that you’re live and optimize the settings so that people can see if you are streaming or playing a certain game.

It always makes things more fun for you and your viewers.

Keep gaming everyone!
