“You Think You Do, But You Don’t”

The infamous line heard around the world (of Warcraft) spoken by none other than World of Warcraft’s executive producer, J. Allen Brack seems quite silly indeed when you think about it now. After the number of servers have almost doubled, most realms maintain a queue of over 4k players, and in some cases up to 10k. Once loaded into the game, it’s easy to see why the wait times are so massive. They’re literally thousands of players roaming the world, competing for every quest, item and dungeon. We understand Blizzards thinking for the lack of servers despite their recent additions. In an interview with Polygon, Blizzard stated that “Our top priority in planning for WoW Classic’s launch has been ensuring that we are laying the groundwork for strong realm communities that will endure over the months and years to follow, which is why we’re cautiously opening new servers to meet demand,” Blizzard told Polygon. We’re now 5 days into the release of WoW Classic, and the community is stronger than it was on day 1. Despite these massive queue times, we should be glad that it’s as popular as it is. Proving once again that game companies need to listen to their fans more careful and give provide them with what they ask for.
