Would You Still Pay Full Price For A Game With No DLC?

You can call me old but I grew up in an era of gaming where we had no DLC…….. well that isn’t entirely true because back in the 90s to early 2000s a lot of games on the PC came with expansion packs as they were called back then. Basically DLC in other words. The Sims pops into my head because of the amount of expansion packs they offered. Some being great and some being not so great, and with the way gaming has evolved now it’s pretty much the same thing. You either have amazing DLC that is totally worth your money or just some piece of garbage DLC that you look at your bank statement and go WTF I could have bought a large pizza and wing deal with that money. With console gaming in the 90s and early 2000s you didn’t see much DLC because you would need a completely new CD or cartridge to house a new sort of game because I don’t think the HD’s on console could hold it. Nonetheless if DLC was around back then it was in an expansion disc and like today it still cost you more money!!!     Lets fast forward to today, it seems like more and more games are being released ahead of schedule and are completely lacking content and are banking on the consumer to purchase the extra DLC once it becomes available. Which to me is HORRIBLE!. At the end of the day we all want a fantastic game that we can play for hours and hours after spending our hard-earned money on it. Well news flash, that just isn’t happening today and like the title says for my article would you pay $59.99 or $79.99 for a game that doesn’t have any DLC lined up?. I don’t think you would! Growing up in the 90s gaming era we never had the choices of DLC, we bought a game and if it sucked it sucked ass and you had no control over it. Now you can buy a game for $79.99 that is a piece of garbage but in time it will be fixed because of DLC. That seems to be the norm and we don’t have a problem dishing out extra money for DLC. Look at all the crazy prices you gotta pay for “complete edition” or “gold edition” games. SHIT! just release a complete game in the first place so we don’t have to spend more damn money on DLC. Or shit be kind and rewind and just toss us some free DLC now and then. Listen I am OK with games being delayed for the sole reason that they are working on a better game for the fans and want it to be “complete”. DLC will never gone and that’s the way it is, followed by the lovely world of microtransactions. Just release games complete and everyone will be happy!     At the end of the day I personally would NOT PAY $59.99 or $79.99 for a video game that was not promised some sort of DLC which does include patches of course. The way games are being released now is bare bones and you are excepting the DLC or update to some what help the game get better. Imagine buying PUBG on game preview for $59.99 the way it was with no DLC or updates? you would have stabbed your console by now into a million pieces. Developers need to get away from this attitude that we will always pay for DLC( even though that will never happen) and start producing a better finished product for us gamers. We will pay the money for a great complete game dammit!!!! as long as you fix all the bugs prior to selling it to us of course. My gaming roots are old school and I bought games in the past without bug fixes and DLC and all that and some turned out great and some I just tossed in the garbage. We have grown a custom to DLC and updates now so buying a game without these options would be pointless and I would never do it because it would be a waste of money knowing that these developers are already releasing unfinished games.   Let me know your thoughts! Comment below.   Cheers!
