A Dazzling Recipe For Destructive Driving

[embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fofjFdjHj0o[/embedyt]   Wreckfest is a racing game developed by Bugbear Entertainment. The title was originally released for PC in 2018 but has finally made its appearance for the PS4 and Xbox One. Gameplay

Wreckfest provides racing car fans the ability to release their destructive desire within. Traditional racing games reward the user on their clean lines, fast laps and for finishing the race without any damage. Most racing games also feature supercars, hypercars, tuners and more, but Wreckfest takes all of that and throws it out the window. For Wreckfest, the objective for most events is to be the last man standing. In the game, there are a few different event types: circuit-style races and destruction derby events. Though the formula seems limited, Wreckfest challenges and entertains gamers with their unique track designs and events destined for destruction and amusement. From couch racing figure 8 tracks to a destruction derby vs school buses, Wreckfest throws you into a Colosseum of vehicular mayhem.  Your garage is the main starting point before every race. Purchase new vehicles or upgrades and even tune your vehicle specific for the event type. The vehicles are unlicensed, but they resemble their real-life classic counterparts. Upgrades are unlocked through completing events in the career mode. You can also apply a custom paint job to showcase your style, but don’t fall in love with your design for too long as once you’re on the track, trading paint is a requirement.     The game uses a great damage system that turns your rusted racer into a pile of scrap after too many collisions. Getting aggressively hit by another driver sets them as your rival for the race. You’re encouraged to attack your rival for extra points. Certain races will also have objectives that encourage you to be a dangerous driver behind the wheel or beat out your opponents for the best lap time. There are various dirt and asphalt tracks where racers will clash, but after several events, the landscape can sometimes feel mundane and repetitive.

Breakdown

Overall, gamers will enjoy the wild nature that Wreckfest has to offer. Though the game may lack the tracks and vehicles found in conventional racing games, Wreckfest lays down the blueprint for vehicular carnage and chaos that other games have been missing.
