Handheld Consoles We Should Never Forget

Growing up as a kid the thought of being able to carry your gaming console with you on the go was something of the future, which we could only dream about in our little racing car beds……. until these handheld consoles were introduced and changed the way we played games………     The Nintendo Gameboy One of the greatest handheld gaming devices to ever hit shelves. The Gameboy was a powerhouse and sold over 120 million units and Tetris was the game you needed to have on this device.     Sega Game Gear Sega Game Gear was the first console to actually feature a fully colored screen and it was something that blew your mind!. This wasn’t as popular as the Gameboy but was still a more powerful handheld console. I still remember the piles and piles of batteries I used while playing this console because it just drained them like you wouldn’t believe. There was a power adapter available but my allowance for cutting grass and raking leafs just wouldn’t add up.     Nintendo DS & 3DS The DS was a first of its kind to feature a duel screen and introduced us to touch screen for gaming. This paved the way for future handhelds and is one of the most successful handhelds ever. The 3DS from the awesome games lineup to the sheer power of this handheld it is something you need to have if you are a gamer.     Sony PSP & Vita Two fantastic handheld devices from Sony. The edge does go to the PSP despite being the older of the two and while it was riddled with heavy load times for games along with some firmware issues this handheld was still great. The Vita was released quite sometime after the PSP and did very well in terms of sales once release but slowly tapered off. Still an over all great handheld console that Sony fanboys cherish forever.   Cheers!!
