Play Much?

Play Much?

Playing video games is a great outlet and fun to enjoy situations that people would never do in real life. Such as swinging a sword with skill and precision, taking cars and crashing into things while racing with other players, or even pretending to be in the army and upgrade weapons by attacking the enemies of the other team. But how much time should one person really be spending on a game? I know that some games are made to grind, but don’t have to be done all at the same time. It’s best to take breaks, because when one person plays games, it will lead to frustration, and anger. I’ve found that I play Destiny 2 a lot, and that game has grinding. To get certain weapons you need to do specific bounties to get the goods. Not all of them are hard, but are time consuming. So here is what I’m going to do, I’m going to show you something interesting and questionable! Released on September 6, 2017, which was 2 years ago, Destiny 2 came out and has had it’s ups and downs. But it is one game that I enjoy playing with my friends and helping each other to get the goods of the game! But how much is too much for one game to be played? I want you to take a look at the picture below and see what one person has played in comparison to myself. I’m on the left hand side and have played a total of 854 hours of the game. So in two years I’ve played a total of 35.58 days which doesn’t seem bad because there are some days where I can play for hours on end but I know I need to take breaks, and do other things such as go outside, hang with friends, or do adult living things. Now I want you to look at the right hand side, this belongs to a guy that I played with years ago, but had to stop because they would message me all the time wanting to play and do quests or try to get a party together and raid. After two years…6248 hours!!! That is way too much for one person to play. Sitting in one spot for that long, there’s gotta be some sort of health issues starting! So that you don’t have to do the math that is 260.33 days! That’s getting close to a full year. The game has only been out for two years! Now I know everyone has their “go to” games but sometimes people need to step away and analyze things in their life. I’m sure that there are people who just sit around and don’t care what happens in life because they have this fantasy land to escape to and enjoy. Most likely sitting at home, not working, and living with their parents still at the age where they should be out living life and spending time with someone you care about. Another game that can be addictive is Call of Duty, now take a look at the stats below with the same gamer. Black Ops 4 wasn’t the best version to play in my mind, but look at the hours! 960 hours played with makes 40 days played. This game came out October 12, 2018. It has only been out a year. Basically what I’m getting at is sometimes you just need to put the controller down and walk away. Take a break and enjoy the things that nature has to offer. Enjoy life, enjoy friends and meeting new people! Don’t sit around in your parents basement and play a total of 300 days ( that’s only the two games) of video games. It shows that you have to much time on your hands and not enough life experience. Let me know how often and how much you play, and what you do when you aren’t playing any games. Cheers everyone!
