After months of speculation, Pokémon Company has finally peeled back the curtain and announced that Pokémon Diamond and Pearl will be receiving full-blown remakes. Following the pattern of past remakes, these titles will be a one-to-one recreation of the 2007 classic released for the Nintendo DS. Sporting a visual style very similar to that of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will arrive on Nintendo Switch in late 2021. This will also be the first time a core Pokemon title isn’t being entirely developed by Game Freak. Ilca inc, who developed Pokemon Home, will be handling the project with the guidance of Junichi Masuda.
