Sony has confirmed that the PlayStation Now game streaming service is on the way to PC. The service will be launching first in Europe, with a North American rollout later.
The adapter will cost $25 but will be used for multi purposes.
Additionally, the Dual Shock 4 USB adapter has been confirmed. Sony will launch the dongle in September for $25. Not only can it be used for PlayStation Now, but it will work with remote play streaming to PC and Mac.
Here’s what your computer needs in order to support PlayStation Now:
Windows 7 (SP1), 8.1 or 10
3.5 GHz Intel Core i3 or 3.8 GHz AMD A10 or faster
300 MB or more; 2 GB or more of RAM
Sound card; USB port
You must also have internet speeds at a minimum of 5Mbps.
My take on it? I had PSNow for 3 months and I used it for like 3 times. Just isn’t my thing. Although I had no connection problems and there wasn’t any lag either but for some reason it felt empty. I know my opinion towards PSNow will change in the future cause I wasn’t a big fan of Digital Games just over a year ago either and now I love to buy games digitally as I am OK with not having hard copy anymore. Streaming games is the next step towards that and I know it is the future of gaming but at the moment I am going to pass. It is still good to see Sony is expanding its service to new places, showing that they are doing well and want more people to enjoy their games.
