Stranger Things 3: The Game Review

Stranger Things 3: The Game Review

With Stranger Things 3 coming to Netflix, and fans going wild over it finally arriving, I could only imagine how many people watched it in one day (including myself). The visuals of bringing the 80’s back to life is spot on, and seems like they really did their research. bringing everyone’s favourite characters back, and introducing some new ones, and a story to keep us hooked, but with the game it leaves everything up for debate. Now I know games can be different from shows, and in this case there is lots of fun to be had but it also seems a little over worked by all the objectives that need to be done. Stranger Things 3: The Game, as you could see from the trailer is an interactive story outlining season 3. Breaking it into a nice retro, 8-bit graphics game that does fit nicely. Mike and Lucas are the initial game into and getting the story started, once the main tutorial is done you are given full exploration to the town. Playing through the story, you’ll unlock more playable characters. Each has their own attacks and special abilities. You can change between characters at any time, so as long as you have the proper characters you’ll make it through the section easily, hop in and hop out co-op player is available for local co-op only. As you explore you will gather crafting materials with which you can make special items help your team. I’ve always been a fan of 8-bit graphic and music, and I am impressed with the visuals, but the music doesn’t seem to leave a good impression on me. With how the game progresses, it seems a little confusing. You are given at least two missions ( different characters) but seems kind of dull as it just seems to point you from A to B, and gather items, or kill people along the way. I’m honestly impressed with how the game play is, but with mostly hitting the “X” button all the time, and finding that super attacks not helping much, I find it extremely repetitive, and at some points forcing myself to play through, and once the game is done, it kind of leaves you there, so it’s a once play through. Not worth $25, and the game isn’t even 1 Gig. I’m including my video review so that you get an idea of the game play.   Keep gaming everyone!
