When I hear someone say couch co-op I have flashbacks to where I am sitting in my parent’s basement side by side with my brother, my best friend Dutch and his older brother as we boot up the N64 and the Rare symbol pops up on-screen. I grew up on the couch gaming with my brother and neighbors and it was nightly routine. Although times have changed as we can now game online with each other, we still manage to hangout and dust of the old retro consoles and battle it out like we did when we were kids. We played a lot of fantastic games and had some really great gaming memories and now I am going to break down my top 5 couch co-op games for Nintendo 64   #5- Super Smash Bros Super Smash Bros was a fantastic party game with friends and still is to this day. The amount of button mashing that went on during some of my battles with this game would have my fingers sore for days.     #4- WWF No Mercy The best wrestling game ever made in my eyes and I could still play this game for hours!. The matches we had in WWF No Mercy will forever hold a special place in my gaming heart. IF YOU SMELL WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKING!!!!!!!!!     #3- Mario Party Mario Party, the game that has seen so many arguments and broken controllers. Mario Party was a virtual board game and it was a lot of fun. The mini game battles had you pushing and shoving your friends to try and mess with them as you try and come out on top. I am 100% convinced my sister stopped gaming because of this game and how many times she lost to me and my brother.     #2- Mario Kart 64 The Sequel to the really popular SNES version Mario Kart 64 lived up to the hype for sure. Hands down one of the most action packed racing co-op games you could play and the battles that ensued during birthday party sleepovers still haunt my parents to this day with all of us screaming at each other in the basement and throwing controllers at the walls or each other.     #1- Goldeneye From the second the intro music drops Goldeneye had its claws dug into you.  Goldeneye in my eyes is one of the best co-op shooters of all time!. The fast paced 4-player battles in the Archives were intense as you tried to get the best weapons to take down your friends. Plant those proximity mines and watch the carnage begin.
