Ubisoft Announces New Collegiate E-Sports League

0
Developer Ubisoft® revealed their first ever collegiate e-sports league last week. The league—starting with Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® Siege—will debut in July 2020 in partnership with FACEIT, the world’s leading platform for online gaming. Registered school clubs will be able to sign up for the league and receive the chance to participate in a slew of programs, both local and cross-continent. Each school participating also has an option to recommend one of their teams to play in the Rainbow Six Collegiate Championship, with all contenders facing off for a $30k prize pool. The league will primarily be sponsored by CORSAIR as well as it’s subsidiary Origin PC. The full season is not expected to start until January 2021, however there will be a pre-season expected this October.

I enjoy long walks on the beach, followed by copious hours spent inside avoiding the sunlight. All kidding aside, as a creative person I am constantly on the lookout for an experience when I play games. I have been gaming since I could form memories and I have a preference for games with a good narrative. That being the case, Writers Mind in Halo: Reach holds a special place in my heart.
