Indie Developer Elden Pixels found commercial success with the 16-bit inspired platformer back in February of 2017, in where the use of a magic staff helps progression through the interconnected, magical world of Alwa. Similar to the Alwa’s Awakening, Alwa’s Legacy will continue to honor the ways of old with their 16-bit inspired visuals, and catchy 8-bit musical numbers, offering a thoroughly contemporary take on the metroidvania genre. Full of puzzles to solve, dungeons to explore, magical items to acquire, and ancient secrets to discover, Alwa’s Legacy will embark on the greatest and most sympathetic of a quests, to simply get back home. Upon waking up however, our protagonist Zoe comes to the dark conclusion that though she finds herself at the beginning of her adventure, the familiar world is…different. She will need help from the people of Alwa, and strengths of her conviction in order to traverse the mysterious and complex landscape. Alwa's Legacy Upgrade your magical items, and explore many different pathways to your destination in this epic homage to the classic 8-bit platformers. In addition to quick reflexes, you’ll have to summon blocks to climb on, bubbles to bounce off of, and lightning bolts to attack with in order to traverse the challenging rooms and avoid any booby traps and pitfalls. Along her adventure, Zoe will meet all manner of interesting characters, comb through dangerous dungeons, and uncover incredible secrets as she attempts to save the land from extinction. Alwa’s Awakening not only recieved rave reviews from the likes of Rock, Paper, Shotgun, Nintendo World Report, Steam, and Nintendo Enthusiast, but also crowdfunded $25,000 USD from 924 backers via Kickstarter. “After one-and-a-half years since the success of Alwa’s Awakening, when we decided to quit our day jobs and go into game development full-time, we’re delighted to finally present Alwa’s Legacy,” said Mikael Forslind, Game Designer for Elden Pixels. “Alwa’s Legacy is the game we’ve always wanted to make, with an expansive game world to explore full of bosses, secrets and amazing platforming challenges. It’s been a tough journey but thanks to the pledges and support of our fans it has now been made possible.” Alwa’s Legacy is currently in a closed beta, which you can join here.
