As the release of Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania draws closer with each passing day, fans wait with baited breath for the next piece of information to drop about this anniversary collection. Over Twitter earlier today audiences were treated to the announcement that the main protagonist of SEGA’s Jet Set Radio, Beat, would be joining the cast of Banana Mania as a playable character.

Beat appears in a Chibi version of his classic design featured in Jet Set Radio and other SEGA crossover titles. Taking control of Beat will see the player collect cans of spray paint in levels rather than the classic yellow bananas and he will be unlockable entirely through normal gameplay. Beat alongside other guest characters Sonic and Tails will be joining Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania when the game releases on October 5th.
